Are you a Good Person?

If you answered "yes" to the title question, please read the following carefully:

Ask yourself the following questions:
1. Have you ever told a lie?
2. Have you ever stolen anything?
3. Have you ever committed adultery? - Look at the words of Jesus - 'You have heard it said, that you must not commit adultery, but I tell you anyone who looks at a woman with lust has committed adultery already with her in his heart.'(Matt 5:28) - All of us reading this have done that, either in the mind or actuality. Myself included.

Your maybe telling yourself, " Yes, I have done these things, but I'm still a good person."
When in reality, there will come a day when the world is judged by the One true just Judge. When He judges us by the standard listed above, we all are extremely guilty and deserve a just punishment.

The Bible tells us, this is exactly what will happen.

Hebrews 9:27 - "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."

Psalm 9:8 - "And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness."

The bible tells us that we will be judged in righteousness (right standing with God) - are we right with God? Well the standard of God's holiness means we are not. Break that standard at one point - means it to be broken wholly and completely.

Good works cannot make up for the offense of breaking God's law (the 10 commandments), law-breakers must be punished.

The Bible has the following to say:
"abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Because God's character is good, perfect and just- he must punish those that have broken his law.

Imagine you are in a God's court room, and a video has played showing every thought, word and deed of your life - You cannot bribe the Judge with works - you will be literally defenseless.

Then when the judge is about to pass sentence, a person whom you do not know, walks up to the judge and says that he loves you and that he is willing to take your punishment so that you may go free - on the condition that you admit your guilt and accept his offer and chose to live a life pleasing of the sacrifice made in your place. Justice has been done and the Judge is satisfied.

This is exactly what Jesus did in your place by dying on the cross 2000 years ago - Romans 5:8 - "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Jesus chose to live an innocent life of flesh, not breaking God's law(the 10 commandments) , take our punishment which we rightly deserve , face God's wrath allowing our guilt to pass to him for the occasion of the Cross and allow us to be forgiven by God. Only God alone can forgive us of our law breaking as it is him who the crimes are committed against. This is called the good news of the Gospel. Jesus suffered on a cross and on the third day rose as Lord and Saviour of all.

Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. Receive Christ and the sacrifice he gave on the cross. Only God can wash you clean from your sins and only Jesus can deliver you from the future judgment of a holy and infinite God. Pray to Jesus. Seek Him. Ask Him to save you.

He will.

Consider these words carefully, They are the greatest gift ever to be offered to you.
